10th std. Results - Anugraha School Bidar.
The head master, Ast. head master, the staff and the
students of Anugraha School congratulate our students for
their stupendous results. 26 appeared for annual board
examination. Out of which 12 passed in distinction, 11 1st
class, 2nd class and 1 NC. Fr. Prasanna Kumar Head Master
Republic Day Celebration : Anugraha School, Bidar On
26th of January, the Anugraha School celebrated the Republic
day in a grand manner. Smt. Grace Padmini Sunder Raj,
Counciller CMC Bidar was the chief guest for the programme,
she was accompanied by Sri. Sudharshan Sunderraj Avocate,
Bidar and Sri. Immanuel Abhishek, Advocate, Bidar were other
invited guests for the programme. We started the programme
around 8.30 A.M. Smt. Grace Padmini hoisted the National
Flag and received the honour. The students sang the National
Anthem to pay tribute to the nation and saluted the national
flag by their disciplined and well guided march-past. Smt.
Grace Padmini in her speech narrated the importance of
Republic Day and elaborately explained the Indian
Constitution and its observance. She went on appreciating
the well disciplined march-past and the cultural programme
performed by the students to show their love for the nation.
The other invited guests too appreciated the discipline of
the school and arrangement of the programme. The students
took keen interest to learn the dances choreographed by the
teachers. The teachers who trained the students for the
march-past and cultural programme were well appreciated by
the guests and parents who witnessed the national festival.
Fr. Prasanth, the Superior of Anugraha Ashram, Sr. Claret,
the Superior of Sneha Sadana convent and Fr. Vincent Balraj,
the Principal of Anugraha School shared the stage along with
the guests. The students were distributed the sweets after
the programme. The invited guests, parents, teachers,
non-teaching staff and students went home cherishing the
sweet moments of the celebration of the Republic day.
Kannada Rajoytsava : Anugraha School, Bidar On
1st of November Anugraha School celebrated the Kannada
Rajyotsava in a grand manner. Shri. Veeranna Baggewadi,
Deputy Commissioner of Excise Bidar district was the chief
guest for the programme. Shri. J. Anil Raj, Inspector of
Excise, Bhalki Range, Bhalki, Shri. Daulathraya,
Sub-Inspector of Excise, Bhalki Range, Bhalki and Shri.
Dundappa Hakki, Sub-Inspector of Excise, Bhalki Range,
Bhalki were other invited guests for the programme. The
programme began around 8. 30 AM. The guests were invited to
the programme by the school band. Shri. Veeranna Baggewadi,
Deputy Commissioner of Excise garlanded the photo of Goddess
Bhuvaneshwari and hoisted the national flag. We all paid
respect to the State by singing the Naada Geethe and paid
respect to the Nation by singing the National Anthem. Mr.
Subhash the assistant-teacher in his speech mentioned about
the history of Karnataka State, the contribution of the
language, culture and origin of the Karnataka flag. The
Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the Kannada language
and importance of retaining the language especially in the
border districts of Karnataka. He appreciated the programme
conducted by the school and encouraged the students to
cultivate love for the mother tongue. He also encouraged and
invited the students to serve the nation by joining the
public services. Fr. Vincent the Principal of the School
appreciated the Kannada language and the contribution of the
language in the field of literature and culture. The
students danced to few kannada songs and entertained the
gathering Fr. Prasanth the Superior of Anugraha Ashram, Fr.
Karunesh the vice- Principal and Treasurer and Sr. Claret
the superior of Seva Sadan convent were present for the
programme. All the teachers took active part in organizing
the programme.
New building of Anugraha School was inaugurated The New building of Anugraha School was inaugurated on 9th
of September, 2019. The programme witnessed many esteemed
guests, fathers, sisters and parents. The Provincial
Minister Rev. Fr. Alwyn Dias, the President of the
programme, inaugurated the new school building. In his
speech, he remembered the selfless service given by the
fathers in bringing up the school. He continued in his
speech telling about Anugraha School, which is known for the
quality education and it is reaching out to the poor and
needy people of Halbarga and surroundings. Rev. Fr. Stany
Lobo, vicar General, Gulbarga Diocese blessed the new school
building and wished all the best for the school ministry.
Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza. Secretary, Capuchin Education
Board, Karnataka was present for the programme and
appreciated the efforts of the fathers. Shree Dr.
Basavalinga Pattaddevaru, Hiremata Samsthana, Bhalki, was
one of the esteemed guest who has special love for our
school, appreciated the Capuchin fathers for the service
given to the humanity. He also appreciated the construction
of the school building. Mohammod Ataaullah Siddhiqi, pashe
Imaam Jamma Masjid, Bidar was present and he narrated the
importance of education in the present society. Kumari Roopa
Bahenji Eshwari Vishwavidyalaya Brahmakumari, Halbarga who
is our regular attendee of any programme was also present
for the programme. Sri. Bandeppa Khashanpur. Ex, Minister &
Present MLA, South Zone, Bidar told in his speech about the
present scenario of the education institutions and also he
promised to help with regard to the education. Sri. Papu
Patil, Youth Leader, Bhalki Sri. Albert Kote, President
Karnataka Christian Rakshna Vedike and District Lay Leader,
Bidar, Smt. Rachamma Mulge, President Gram Panchayat,
Halbarga and Sri Linganand CRP, Halbarga were other invited
guests who were present for the inaugural celebration
respectively. Along with them many fathers, sisters from
near and far and parents were present to witness the
inauguration. The inaugural celebration went on very well
without any interruption of the weather. The inaugural
programme was well arranged by fathers of Anugraha Ashram.

Inauguration of the New Academic Year 2019 -20 :
Anugraha School, Bidar Anugraha
Church School Halbarga Bidar, inaugurated the academic year 2019
-20 in a rightful manner. Fr. Clery the dean of Bidar denary,
who was chief guest invited, along with him the neighbouring
petrol bunk owner Mr. Ravi and Mr. Santhosh who is the parent of
the student were invited to participate in the inauguration of
the academic year respectively. We inaugurated the academic year
by lighting the lamp and flying away the pigeons. Fr. Clery in
his speech motivated the students about the importance of
education and ecology. He also encouraged the students to become
good citizens of the nation. Mr. Santhosh in his speech
appreciated the management for the selfless service done to
educate the students and promised his support to the school. Fr.
Vincent the principal in his speech spoke about how education
can change the mindset of the students to become great
personalities in the world. He also added students’ and
teachers’ relationship by narrating about the lit lamps who are
teachers, those who educate and unlit lamps who are students,
those who receive education. Fr. Prasanth the superior and
parish priest of Halbarga was present and wished all the success
to the academic year. Fr. Karunesh, the vice principal and the
administrator, who made all the arrangements for the
inauguration and wished well for the students for the new
academic year.

Anugraha Bidar: Parent-Teachers’ Association On 22nd, August, 2018 Parent-Teachers’ Association was
called. To catch the speed of the modern education system
and to know many things about the relation between parents,
teachers and students the parent-teachers’ meeting was
called. Many parents attended the meeting and benefited
immensely. The resource persons for the meeting were Fr.
Provincial and Fr. Robin Victor the Administrator of the
province. The resources persons highlighted the role of the
parents in today’s education system. They said that it is
the prime responsibility of every parent to know what the
child is doing at school and at home. Further they said that
a close collaboration between teachers and parents will
bring immense improvement in the growth of their children.
Mr. Ravindra and Mr. Prabhu were the parents representatives
who also said that Anugraha School is a wonderful school in
this area and creates ample opportunities for the students
to grow all round. Then the principal, Fr. Richard made
announcement of what the school has achieved so far and what
are the future plans. Thus the meeting ended with tea and
snacks to the parents and teachers.

Anugraha Bidar: Laying foundation stone On 22nd August, 2018 Anugraha School witnessed the laying of
foundation stone for the upcoming school building. It was a
moment of grace and joy for the staff and students of
Anugraha School. Amidst the showers of blessings and rain
the foundation stone was laid by Rev. Fr. Dolphy Pais, the
Provincial, Holy Trinity Karnataka. Many a person witnessed
this event, viz. Fr. Robin, the administrator of the
province, Fr. Vijesh the Treasurer of the province and the
community members of Pothnal, Clara Vihar. There was a short
prayer service before laying the foundation stone. The
students of the school sang well the devotional hymns and
led all to a prayerful mood. Fr. Provincial blessed the
stone and the land all who were present. Thus the ceremony
ended by distributing the sweets to the students and the
staff. A special thanks to the provincial and the definitors
for taking utmost care towards our community and school.

Anugraha, Bidar: Independence day celebration On 15th August, 2018 Anugraha School
celebrated the 72nd Independence Day. Mr. Prakash Khandre
the ex-MLA, Bhalki presided over the celebration. After
hoisting the national flag he received the solute from the
four houses of the School. He appreciated the works the
Christian institutes have been rending since the freedom
fight of India. He recalled, how he had helped the churches
in and around Bhalki Taluk in the past and also he promised
do anything for the church. As he concluded saying that he
had never seen such a discipline in own schools. The
celebration was more colourful because of the group dance
competition on the patriotic songs. Four houses, which were
inaugurated this year did well in the competition and won
the worthy prizes. Thus the program ended with distributing
sweets to the children and parents who were present.

Anugraha Bidar: Vanamahotsava On 11th July, Anugraha School celebrated the Vanamahotsava.
It was a wonderful witnessing event by the school to bring
about an awareness regarding protecting the environment by
growing trees. Mr. Umakanth the Deputy Forest Range Officer
being the main guest of the day addressed the students. The
stage was decorated by many eminent persons like, Fr.
Vijayraj, SJ, Fr. Richard, the principal, Fr. Prashanth, the
parish priest and Fr. Karunesh, the Asst. Principal. The
program was well organized; the discipline of the students
was highly appreciated by the officer. The principal
welcomed the gathering. Thus symbolically a plant was
planted and a tree was distributed to each class. Thus, the
short program ended with photo session and singing National
Anthem.

Anugraha, Bidar: women's day celebration On March 8th, 2018 the Women’s Day was
celebrated at Anugraha School Halbarga. It was a day
surprising to all women teachers who were called on the
stage to be guest of the day. All the women teachers were
wished a happy women’s day. Fr. Karunesh spoke about the
importance of women in the society. He invited all the
students to understand the role of woman in all the aspects
of life and to give due respect to every woman. He also
invited the students to protest against all that
discriminates women and give protection from atrocities that
are happening on women. Thus the program ended with wishing
too children.

Anugrah School Bidar: Scouts and Guides
On 15th Feb, 2018 Anugraha School celebrated Santh Sevalal
Jayanthi along with Scouts and Guides renewal day. The Chief
Guests for the program were Mr. Anil Shashtri, Mr. Gayakwad
and Mss. Jaisheela. All the wings of Scouts and Guides, Cubs
and bulbuls and Bunnys had a wonderful time of renewal and
recreation. Many games and sports were arranged. All the
wings were well guided by the well trained personal.
Moreover many a students names were enrolled for Rajya
Prashashti Puraskar. The chief guests appreciated the
children for their discipline and enthusiasm.

Anugraha School: Annual Function On 19th January, 2018 Anugraha School celebrated the 8th
Annual function. The day was set aside to hit the dance
floor, to become witness for the value education, to honour
and hail all those great hands who worked behind the success
of the school. Many eminent persons had come to join in the
celebration namely; Fr. Deepak Rayappa, the president of the
program, Fr. Santhosh Dias, Diocese of Gulbarga, Shri.
Gurubasavalinga Pattadeveru, DSP Bhalki, Vaani Behanji, Mr.
Shivalingappa, BEO, Mr. Kallappa Chalakapure, DOC Bidar, Mr.
H.S. Martin, Mr. Nijamuddin, Mss. Rachamma Mulge, President
Gram Panchayat, Fr. Prashanth PP Halbarga and Sr. Lovely,
Superior Halbarga. The program began as per the schedule,
soon the ground was filled with more that 4,000 people. It
was the fabulous and well organized program. All said that
such program to witness in the villages is rare. In fact it
was a great witness to the locals that the school staff is
working hard to bring up the standard of the students. There
were many varieties of dances. Every item was interesting
and thrilling to see. The dignitaries spoke well of the
performance of the school. Thanks to all the staff who
worked hard to make this day. Praise God.

Bidar: Anugraha School, Visit to CM It was a special day for Anugraha School staff and students
on 13th December, 2017 as they had an auspicious chance to
visit Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shree Sidramayya. This
opportunity came as we have a special wing for Scouts and
Guides at Anugraha School. The Bharat Scouts and Guides,
Bidar requested us to welcome the Chief Minister to Bhalki
city with our unique band set and march past. The students

Children's Day: Anugraha School, Bidar On 14th November, 2017 Anugraha school celebrated the
Children’s day in honour of our First Prime Minister, Pandit
Jawaharlal Nehru. It was a splendid day as children marched
towards the school with colorful dresses. The day witnessed
a beautiful stage program by the most enthusiastic staff of
Anugraha. Miss DK Vaani, Brahmakumar madam was the chief
guest of the day. The staff entertained the children with
welcome dance, humorous skit, advertisements, dances etc.
The school also organized Fancy Dress Competition for the
children to entertain them. Many parents were present for
the program and enjoyed every moment. Happy children’s day.

Karnataka Rajyosthava: Anugraha, Halbarga On 1st November, 2017 the staff and students celebrated the
‘union of Karnataka.’ The students put up an extraordinary
performance that day with speeches and dances. The chief
guest for the function was Mr. Arjun Kanak, the congress
youth Leader for Basavakalyan. He addressed the children on
the occasion. He said that bringing up of Kannada literature
and culture is the prime responsibility of every kannadiga.
Then the children marched to Halbarga in procession to make
an impression about the day. All the villagers were marveled
at the discipline and slogans of Anugraha Students. Thus the
function ended with sweet distribution to all students and
staff.

Anugraha School: Teacher's day On 5th of September, 2017 Anugraha School celebrated the
Teacher’s day. The teachers of the school were the chief
guest for the function. The children welcomed the teachers
and the gathering in a very creative manner. The children
honoured the teachers with beautiful roses and
appreciations. Many speeches were heard in appreciation of
the tireless efforts of the teachers. The teachers also
shared their experience as teachers in our school. They
expressed their joy and satisfaction being in teaching
profession. Along with teacher’s day celebration also the
group and individual dance competition was arranged. The
principal Fr. Richard Kadiwal distributed the gifts to the
teachers as a gratitude for the service they are rendering
in the school. The program ended with powerful speech by a

Independence Day: Anugraha School On 15th August, 2017 Independence Day was celebrated at
Anugraha School, Halbarga, Bidar. Amidst the atmosphere of
Scouts and Guides, the celebration was filled with real
patriotism. Miss DK Vijayalaxmi Behanji, Brahmakumari, was
the chief guest for the function. Fr. Prashantkumar, Fr.
Karunesh and Sr. Lovely DSS added the grandeur for the
program. The chief hoisted the flag and delivered a
beautiful speech about the traditions and culture of India
which led to freedom movement but they are disappearing
today. The age-old values which held India’s head high are
compromised in many ways she said. Then the children put up
a creative program and gave witness of patriotism through
march-past dance and drama to those who present in the
premises.

Anugraha Bidar: health is wealth through Yoga Anugraha School arranged a seminar on “Health is wealth
through Yoga”. Mr. Yogi Vaijanath from Shimoga. I was a half
day seminar bringing awareness about the maintaining good
health through the practice of Yoga. The yogi also taught
children how to treat the cold, cough, and simple ailments
with home medicines. There was also session on meditation;
all the students and teachers were lead into meditation.

Parents-Teachers Association : Anugraha School On
22nd July, 2017 Anugraha hosted the PTA meeting. Mr. Kallappa
Chalakapure, the former CRP Halbarga and Yunus the B.Ed college
professor, Kamtane College Bidar were the chief guests and
resource persons of the day. The cooperation of the parents was
appreciating as they cooperated with the plans and projects of
the school. The resource persons spoke about the responsibility
of the parents and teachers towards the children. The resource
persons spoke that every child is not private property of
parents, rather he/she is the resource of the country; they are
being formed in the hands of parents and teachers, therefore,
our example of good life is very important. Every child is the
citizen of Indian in the making very much care should be taken
in forming them. The Principal, Fr. Richard Kadiwal announced
the future plans and points to be given attention. In which he
highlighted even the expectations of the parents as the plans of
the days to come. Thus the meeting ended with singing national
anthem. Thereafter the parents were expected to meet the class
teachers and sign the progress card.

Anugraha School: Vanamahotsava On 5th July 6, 2017 Anugraha school, Halbarga celebrated the
Vanamahotsava. Mr. Umakanth, the Deputy Range Forest

the program. The school band welcomed them in a grand
manner. A plant was planted symbolically to welcome the
students to grow trees. Mr. Umakanth gave a wonderful
message to the students with stories and many examples.
Thereafter the students were distributed plants to grow as
class wise. The principal Fr. Richard Kadiwal announced that
the best grown tree would be given a best prize. Thus the
program ended by planting the trees in the Anugraha Campus.

Anugraha Ashram: Pastoral visitation and School Re-opening On 11th and 12th of June,
2017, there was a pastoral visitation at Anugraha Ashram.
Rt. Rev. Fr. Michael Miranda, the bishop of Gulbarga was
welcomed to Anugraha Ashram, Halbarga. During his pastoral
visitation he visited the Anugraha community, Sisters and
parishioners. In his visit he highlighted the dire need of
giving faith-formation to the people of this area. He also
formally reopened the School that day. In his speech he said
that education is a primary weapon to change the society,
and Anugraha church school is on the verge of giving you
all-round growth. He wished the students and staff all the
best for the academic year 2017-18.

Anugraha School: Thanksgiving Day On 25th of March Anugraha School celebrated a day of
Thanksgiving. Remembering all the blessings that were
received from God Almighty in the year 2016-17 the school
gathered all staff and student community to thank God today.
Among the students two of them and among teaching staff Ms.
Geetha and Mr. Mahan spoke about the enormous change that
has taken place in line with discipline, academic
performance, co curricular activities etc. All appreciated
the Principal Fr. Richard Kadiwal OFM Cap for
well-organizing the entire year though there were many
hurdles at the initial stages. The principal spoke and
thanked all the staff and students for their tireless
efforts to make Anugraha head high. All the teachers were
appreciated considering their unique talents and
contribution for the growth of Anugraha. All the staff was
presented with laminated pictures of their class and entire
staff to keep for their memory. As Anugraha School thanks
the Almighty God there many of you have directly or
indirectly have contributed to the growth of the school. The
management, staff and students are grateful to you. Thank

Anugraha: community day and principal's birthday On 4th March, 2017 Anugraha community celebrated the
birthday of Fr. Richard Kadiwal, superior and principal of
the school. There was a well organized cultural programme
conducted in the school under the leadership of Frs.
Karunesh and Lourdswamy. Thereafter at the community level
celebration too was organized. It began with mass and agape
at noon. Many priest and school staff joined the
celebration. It was a splendid day.

Anugraha School: Taluk level Scouts and Guides Rally On 1st March 2017 Bharat Scouts and Guides conducted the
Taluk level rally on the occasion of Lord Baden Powel’s
birthday. Anugraha school students and staff with the band
set rocked the streets of Bhalki Taluk. At the Rally
inaugural session many eminent persons were present viz. Mr.
Eshwar Khandre the MLA Bhalki, Shreemathi Seethal Chauhan,
the standing committee, and so on. Addressing the crowd Mr.
Eshwar Khandre said that in the entire Bidar district
Anugraha school, Halbarga, has made a remarkable move and is
completely dedicated for Scouts and Guides movement. He
continued saying that all the schools around must take good
example from it. Following the rally there was a stage
program arranged in which many dignitaries appreciated the
principal of the school, Fr. Richard and staff for their
hard work. There after the children entertained the entire
crowed with dance and singing songs. All the children were
served with sumptuous rice and dal curry.

Staff picnic: Anugraha Bidar The staff of Anugraha School, Bidar had a three days of
outing, 23rd Feb to 25th Feb. The places the staff visited
are namely: Jog falls, Murdeshwar, Gokarna, Yana, Hunchalli
falls, Rock Gardens, Mundgod Tibetian colony, Banvasi,
Shirshi etc. It was an awesome experience and refreshment
for all the staff. The Principal of the school Fr. Richard
Kadiwal took utmost care and interest in organizing the
trip. It was an awesome experience, everyone appreciated the
event.

Anugraha School: Baden Powel Day It is a remarkable day for Scouts and Guides movement as
this particular Organization celebrates today, 22/02/2017
the birthday of a great man, Lord Baden Powel. Scouts and
Guides is one of the Independent and voluntary organization
spread nearly 216 countries around the world. It is the
movement which brings discipline, confidence and courage in
the students. The students enjoy the creative activities of
the movement. Anugraha School is proud today to say we are
the major part of the Scouts and Guides movement at Bidar,
because in Anugraha school very child and staff is in the
scouts and guides movement. Today in the morning there was a
Inter-religious Prayer Meet at 7:30 and Fr. Richard Kadiwal
the principal of Anugraha school was the asked to address
the crowd. thereafter, the Bharath Scouts and Guides Bidar
organized the District Rally in honor of Lord Baden Powel.

Camp, Anugraha School: Halbarga On
11th Feb, 2017 Health camp was conducted at Anugraha School
Halbarga, Bidar. It was a government health program on Measles
and Rubella Vaccination Campaign. Dr. Amitha Jadav together with
her team the camp was conducted at Anugraha school. The parents
willingly supported the campaign. The staff and students of
Anugraha cooperated for the success of the program.

Anugraha Ashram: Canonical Visitation and Republic Day
Celebration On
25th January loving Fr. Provincial stepped in the premises of
the Anugraha Ashram, Halbarga, for the canonical visitation of
the fraternity, school and parish. The students of Anugraha
School gave him a warm welcome by saluting him with band. He set
a dove free in the air as a sign of inauguration of the
Canonical visitation. After meeting the individual friars, he
visited the substation of St. Francis of Assisi parish,
Halbarga, viz. Hupla, Siddeshwar, Konmelkunda and Hunaji. The
parish priest, Fr. Prashanthkumar together with Sr. Preshitha
DSS organized the prayer service in the villages after which
provincial addressed the people. On 26th January, as it was the
68th Republic day, the provincial was the main guest of the
event. The school staff and students had organized a wonderful

Visit of Mission Secretary: Anugraha Ashram, Bidar Fr. Charles Furtado the Mission Secretary of the Province
visited the Anugraha Ashram, Halbarga, Bidar on 6th of
January, 2017. The community gave him the warm welcome in
the winter morning. It was a wonderful to see that he being
with us to encourage us in the mission of Gulbarga Diocese.
He took keen interest in knowing the activities that are
conducted here as missionaries. He visited the Anugraha
School on 7th, the principal Fr. Richard Kadiwal, staff and
students gave him a warm welcome. The band group of school
saluted him and took by the procession to the stage. After
the common school assembly the principal honoured and
introduced the person to the assembly. He addressed the
staff and students saying that Anugraha is a blessing for
this place, make best use of the facility that are available
in the school.

Anugraha School Bidar: 7th Annual School Day Function In the presence of many eminent persons the 7th Annual
function of Anugraha School Bidar hit the stage set in
Anugraha premises. More than 2000 people from around 34
villages witnessed this great event. It was the day marked
in the minds and hearts of people, they got more than what
they expected. Under the cold sky people enjoyed the warmth
of Anugraha School. Many eminent guests were present namely
VG of Gulbarga Diocese Fr. Stany Lobo inaugurated the Star
crib, Fr. Provincial, Holy Trinity Karnataka, Dr.
Basavalinga Pattadeveru, Buddhist monk- Kasheppa Banteji, DK
Vani Brahma kumari Behenji, Dr Bershetty Bharat Scouts and
Guides, Mr. Vijaykumar Bavage PSI Dhannura and many others
were present on the stage. Fr. Stany Lobo VG of Gulbarga
blessed us with a Christmas mesage, Fr. Provicial said
education is not just learning to read and write but its
more than that, Basavalinga Pattadeveru said that Anugraha
is the best school in Bidar district known for its value
based education and discipline and Dr. Bershetty simply
praised the Anugraha School for its active participation in
scouts and guides.

Constitution Day : Anugraha School On 26th November, 2016 Constitution Day celebrated in
Anugraha School Bidar. Fr. Karunesh was the main guest for
the program who highlighted that constitution is one single
roof under which all Indians can take shelter. He further
said that, it guards our rights and duties, it provides
complete freedom to express our faith, etc. It's was an eye
opener for the students and all who were attending the
program.

Anugraha School: Children's Day On 14th November, 2016 Children's Day was celebrated in
Anugraha School Bidar. It's the birthday of Pandit
Jawaharlal Nehru who dedicated his day for children. The day
was colourful as all children wore colour dress to celebrate
their day. The stage of Anugraha was much more colourful as
two sisters of Brahma Kumaris viz., Vijayalakshmi and
Savitha and the RRC Konkani retreat preacher Br. James was
on the dais along with the principal, fr. Richard, fr.
Prashanthkumar, fr. Lourdsawmy, fr. Karunesh and school
leaders. The teachers took every initiative to celebrate the
day in a grand manner. Teachers danced and entertained the
students. What is remarkable is fr. Lourdsawmy entertained
everyone with a beautiful dance. Miss Vijayalakshmi spoke
about that the children are the future of the country, their
talents are to be trapped and given appropriate space to
develop them.

Kannada Rajyotsava @ Anugraha School : On 1st November 2016 Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated in
Anugraha school, Halbarga, Bidar. It is the day marked to
celebrate the unification of Kannada speaking people into a
single State as Karnataka. Rev. Anthony Raj, Parish priest
of Pothnal, Raichur presided over the celebration. He
hoisted the National Flag and received the honour from the
students of Anugraha school. He spoke that Kannada culture,
literature and tolerance is well known all over the world,
it has to be enhanced. The people who worked for the
Karnataka unification are to be respected. The great persons
like Kuvempu, Bendre, Gangubai Hangal so on must emerge from
the young generation. The school is the best place to see
that such persons should be recognised and encouraged. Then
the principal of the school Fr. Richard honoured the guests
on the dais. The community members of Anugraha Ashram were
present for the celebration. The staff sang the song Nada
Geethe (dedicated to Karnataka) "Jai Bharata jananiya
tanujate jai he Karnataka Maathe". It was a splendid day.

Anugraha, Bidar: News from near and far From
15th to 21st, October 2016 Bharat Scouts and Guides
conducted the Basic Training program at Gurukula School,
Kardiyal. Three teachers from Anugraha School participated
in the program. On the concluding day on 21st there was an
inter-religious meet and sharing of faith with a beautiful
prayer service. Fr. Richard, the principal of Anugraha
School, Halbarga was invited to speak on spiritual values of
Christ and pray amidst many eminent spiritual leaders and
other secular leaders. The entire hall was filled with the
vibration of love and service as every religious leader
spoke on the same topic highlighting the service of St.
Mother Teresa of Culcatta. The program was presided by the
Dr. Basavalinga Swamiji as he hosted the entire training
program, there was a Buddhist monk, aIslam leader, DDPI of
Bidar district, and Fr. Richard representing the Christian
religion. It was felt need to give values to children
specially as scouter and guiders and this was forum that
teachers were enlightened to know the depth of each
religion. Thus the program went on for an hour and ended
saying shanthi mantra.

Anugraha Ashram : St. Francis of Assisi Feast On
13th of October, 2016, St. Francis of Assisi feast was
celebrated in a very grand scale at Anugraha Ashram,
Halbarga, Bidar. The VG of the Diocese Rev. Fr. Stanly Lobo
presided over the celebration. Fr. Balraj the brother of Fr.
Prashanth, parish priest of Halbarga was the preacher at the
solemn mass. There were many priest and nuns from around who
witnessed the celebration. Everyone experienced the grace of
God. The parish devotees were spiritually nourished. The
celebration began as Rev. Fr. Deepak OFM Cap blessed the
statue of St. Francis for the solemn procession into the
Halbarga city. Though there were less devotees at the
beginning of the procession all the priests and nuns joined
the procession accompanied by VG of the Diocese. Fr.
Karunesh preached to the public addressing all the people of
Halbarga about the significance of the Feast. Returning from
procession the solemn mass began with prayers and bhajans
etc. At the end of the Mass the Parish Priest Fr. Prashanth
OFM Cap thanked all the priests and generous people who made
the day beautiful by honouring them with gifts and candles.
Thus the celebration ended with sumptuous meal to all the

School: Renewal Program The
School stands first in Bidar district because of the scouts
and guides activities: the specialty of Anugraha School is
that every child and every staff in the school is in scouts
and guides. In this venture, I must mention one name i.e.
Very Rev. Bro. Victor Crasta, the previous principal whose
personal interest and encouragement the school stands head
high in whole of Bidar district. Today the new principal of
the School Fr. Richard has continued the same spirit with
much enthusiasm that every child entering here becomes a
scout and guide by nature of the school. On 8th of October,
2016 the Anugraha School witnessed one of the major steps in
the Scouts and Guides movement. There was a “Chaitanya
Shibira”, that is renewal camp for all the students and

Anugraha School: “War on Uncleanness” Mahatma
Gandhi said, “We can no more gain God’s blessing with an
unclean body than with an unclean mind. A clean body cannot
reside in an unclean city”. Therefore, it is better to clean
the city and specially the surrounding of our dwelling in
order to create an atmosphere to live healthy life. This was
shown to the Halbarga village by very example on Oct 2nd as
Anugraha School celebrated the Gandhi Jayanthi. The Scouts
and Guides students of Anugraha School walked the streets
and collected the dirt that was on the road, streets, beside
shops, every nook and corner of the city. The students
collected mainly the plastic and papers. Indeed it was an

Anugraha school : Teaches everything to educate the children It's
an honour to say that Anugraha school teaches everything to
educate a child. The all round growth of the child is the
primary aim of the school. Therefore, it caters to the needs
of the students according to the present time. The
principal, Fr. Richard and the staff are just on their toes
to meet the requirements of a responsible citizen. Because
the future of the nation is formed in the four walls of
Anugraha school here in Bidar. To tap this energy in the
students we have academic and co-curricular activities.

September we began the Mid-term Examinations in the school.
The students were well prepared for the examinations in
different ways. They were given complete revision of the

Pratibha karanji: Anugraha school, Bidar Talents
can never be hidden rather they are to be exposed to the
world the glory of God. What we are is the gift of God and
what we become is our gift to Almighty God. The tiny tots of
Anugraha performed so well that secured 10 first prizes in
the cluster level. On this day on 26-09-2016 they were
honoured with prizes by the principal, Fr. Richard and

State Level Cubs and Bulbuls Badge Work Camp The
state level Cubs and Bulbuls badge work camp was held on
15th September to 17th September in Belagavi. From Anugraha
School 6 cubs and 6 bulbuls attended the camp together with
two teachers viz., Ms. Geetha and Ms. Sudharani. The camp
enabled our teachers and students to go a step higher in
this camp. We sincerely thank all the parents for the
sending their tiny kids all the way to Belagavi for three
days. The trained cubs and bulbuls are sharing their
experience to all other students on every Thursday during

Anugraha school: Parents-Teachers Association On
17th September 2016 there was parent-teacher's meet at
Anugraha school Halbarga, Bidar. Fr. Alwyn, the CEB
secretary was present for the meet. The entire meeting was
on the role of parents n teachers in building the life of
the children. Fr. Alwyn said: "Education is a relationship."
He highlighted that we as parents n teachers have the
responsibility in being connected one another for the all
round growth of the students. The principal Fr. Richard
Kadiwal brought a beautiful report of the school activities
that took place so far. He also mentioned that capuchin
existence in Halbarga is only for the growth of that area
and he requested the cooperation of the parents in this
regard. Fr. Lourdsawmy welcomed all the guests and Fr.
Karunesh thanked everyone as proposed the vote of thanks.
The teachers and parents were extremely happy with all the
academic as well co-curricular activities of the school. At

all the students. Rev. Deacon Praveen was present on this
occasion to enlighten the staff and students on the
importance of co-curricular activities for wholesome growth

Monti Fest : Halbarga Parish, Bidar We
the Fraternity of Anugraha Ashram, Halbarga, Bidar wish you
a Happy Feast of Nativity our Mother Mary. We had meaningful
celebration here on this day. The school remained close as
local holiday. Many of the parish people joined the
celebration and partook in the mass and became worthy of
God’s blessing. Under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Karunesh
the Assistant to Parish priest took the initiative to
organize this feast for the villagers of Halbarga. He
preached an inspiring sermon summarizing all the
contribution of Our Mother in the Salvation of humanity.
There many Christians from other denominations who were also
enlightened on this occasion. Fr. Lourdswamy was the main
celebrant who gave high mass and solemnized the celebration.
Fr. Richard, the Guardian of the house wished all the people

Teacher’s Day: Anugraha School On
3rd of September, 2016 the Teacher’s Day was celebrated at
Anugraha School, Halbarga, Bidar. It was a splendid
function, entirely organized by the students of the school.
The chief guest for the celebration was Rev. Fr. Prashanth
Kumar the Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Church,
Halbarga. The celebration began with a prayer to God and
honoring the picture of Shree Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the
Second prime minister of India, who’s bday is celebrated as
the Teacher’s Day. The students made eloquent speeches on
the teachers and appreciated all the teachers who worked
hard in our school. The principal, Rev. Fr. Richard also
spoke that ‘teaching is not a profession but a vocation’ and
he invited the school teachers to dedicate for the same
cause. Thereafter the principal thanked all the teachers for
their hard work and honored them with gifts. The celebration
dint stop with this, the students had organized many funny
games to have some light moments on the occasion and
distributed the prizes for the teachers. The celebration

Training On Honoring and Respecting the National Flag On
01/09/2016 there was a special training programme on
“Honoring and Respecting the National Flag” at Anugraha
School, Halbarga, Bidar. The training was conducted by Mr.
Bangari from BEO office, Bhalki. It was befitting to have
such training programmes to know the value of our National
Flag. The training also included a practical session on how
to hoist the flag with utmost grandeur and meticulous

STAGE FOR YOUNG TALENTS: ANUGRAHA SCHOOL, HALBARGA, BIDAR Anugraha
School, hosted a stage for 22 schools to exhibit their
talents as there was Cluster level Pratibha Karanji (Talents
Day) on 31/08/2016. As vibrant students swarmed around from
many villages the stage was at their disposal to show their
unique talents. The program began with invoking the
blessings of God as there was Hindu pooja done to experience
the good omen. Mr. Linganand, CRP Halbarga cluster worked
hard with the staff of Anugraha too see the day successful.
Indeed it was a grand success. The Head Masters, teachers
and students of other schools who came here witnessed and
appreciated the discipline as well as organised situation.
As the day went on there were many activities were held,
dance, singing, memorizing, rangoli, drawing, clay modeling,
etc., etc., most of the prizes were grabbed by our own

Celebration of Freedom at Anugraha School, Bidar It
was an auspicious day as the sun rose on 15th of August, the
tiny tots of Anugraha School gathered around the School
premises to celebrate the pride of India i.e. the
Independence Day. The flag hoisting was done by Mr.
Linganand, the CRP Halbarga Cluster, Bidar. He received the
solute and thereupon he hoisted the flag. The stage was
decorated by the eminent personalities viz, Mr. Linganand,
CRP Halbarga, Fr. Richard Kadiwal OFM Cap, principal of the
school, Fr. Lourdswamy, Sr. Preshitha Superior of Sneha
Sadan Convent, and Sr. Jyothis. The children celebrated the
Freedom of India through their inspiring speeches, mono act,
pyramid and dances. Moreover the cream of the program of was
a beautiful speech by Mr. Linganand and Fr. Richard the

Powell Day:- On
23rd February, 2016, the birthday of Lord and L:ady Baden
Powell was celebrated in Bidar by the district Scouts &
Guides administration. A rally lasting for about 2 hours was
held by the Scouts & Guides of Bidar. Anugraha School took
very active part in it and School Band accompanied the rally
all through. It was surprising to see the tiny tots were
still energetic even after playing school band for two hours
without any interruption. During the concluding programme
held, the Anugraha School was awarded as the best school in
Bidar district for its contribution to Scouts & Guides by
making all the 209 students to join the scouts and guides
movement and also training all the 12 teachers to be the

Republic Day:- Anugraha
School at Halbarga Bidar celebrated Republic Day on 26th
January, 2016. Having finished the flag hoisting ceremony
and cultural programme in the school grounds, nearly
50 of us went to the district field at Bidar to participate
in the programme organized at the district stadium. Our cubs
and bulbuls performed to the applause of everyone gathered.

“Christmas – 2015”
“Christmas
– 2015” was celebrated at Anugraha School, Halbarga, Bidar
on 23.12.2015 with pomp and gay. The chief guest of the day
was Mr. C Nagaraj, the BEO of Bhalki together with his 8
team members. All the dignitaries were welcomed by the new
School Band with a procession that led to the crib and
placing the new born baby Jesus in the crib by the Parish
Priest Fr. Joslie Francis D’Silva. Varieties of dances and
songs by the students and staff entertained every one.
Christmas cake was distributed to all gathered. The
dignitaries and all the staff had a Christmas gift and a

Hiking
for Scouts and Guides:- A
day’s hiking for the Scouts & Guides was organized by the
Bidar District Administration of Scouts & Guides. It was
held in a forest area known as Sangameshwara Kola. Nearly 27
schools took part in it and our Anugraha School too sent 65
students accompanied by 5 staff members. It was an
interesting day for all the tiny tots. Nearly 500 students
from all over Bidar district took part in it. It was for the
first time after a long silence of 4 years. Kudos to Dr.

Prathibha Karanji at Taluk level:-
Bhalki
Taluk organized Prathibha Karanji at the taluk level on 21st
November, 2015. Anugraha School band newly purchased was
inaugurated on that day. The tiny tots with only 5 days
practice came out stupendous. All the dignitaries on the
stage were marveled to see the performance of these lower
primary students. Kudos to the band master Mr. Chowdaiah who
trained and made them fit for a function within 5 days. It
was a unique chance for the students of Anugraha to play the
band for the first time and that too for the entire taluk.

Children’s Day Celebration at Anugraha:- On
November 14th Anugraha School at Bidar celebrated Children’s
Day in a grand scale. Fr. Valerian D’Souza, OFM Cap. from
New Zealand was the chief guest of the function and also Sr.
Flavia Castelino, RNDM was the other guest. This day was
totally managed and taken care by the staff only. All the
staff (teaching and non-teaching) took active part to
entertain all the students. Fancy dress competition was held

Karnataka Rajyotsava Day at Anugraha:- Anugraha
School at Bidar celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava day in a
befitting manner on 1st of November, 2015 though it was a
Sunday. The national flag was hoisted by Fr. Pradeep Mangali,
OFM Cap. and the cubs and bulbuls staged varieties of
entertainments. All together we sang Nada Geethe and the
entire programme was conducted in Kannada language just to
mark the importance of knowing and learning Kannada
Language. After the programme in the school, 30 cubs and
bulbuls went to Bhalki to take part in the same programme
organized at Taluk level. Our tiny tots performed pyramids
at the surprise of every one. The Local MLA Mr. Eshwar
Khande was surprised to see the adventures of the tiny tots
and garlanded every student who performed this and
congratulated the principal and the other staff who trained

Feast
of St. Francis:- Anugraha
Ashram, Halbarga Bidar, celebrated the feast of its founder
and patron St. Francis of Assisi on 4th October, 2015. After
the solemn procession to Halbarga city, the Eucharist was
celebrated by the bishop of Gulbarga Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr.
Robert Michael Miranda accompanied by 20 priests and around
350 faithful. Cultural programme coupled with felicitation
for the dignitaries followed thereafter. A sumptuous chicken

Teachers’ Day Celebration at Taluka Level:- On
Saturday 3rd October, 2015, Bhalki Taluk in Bidar district
celebrated teachers’ day in a grand scale. Nearly 2,500
teachers from 300 schools of Bhalki Taluka took part in the
programme. Anugraha School was asked to stage a prayer dance
and also the scouts & guides (cubs & bulbuls of Anugraha)
had to perform one more dance. Though there are nearly 300
schools in Bhalki district our school was chosen by the BEO.
The MLA congratulated the students and also the school
management. It was a unique chance for the students of
Anugraha to perfor for such a great and qualified audience.

Jayanthi Celebration:- On
2nd of October, Anugraha School at Halbarga, Bidar
celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi in a unique way. As this day was
marked as “Bharath Swacha Din” last year by our Prime
Minister Narendra Modi, this year it is the anniversary day.
To keep up the promise that the Anugraha students took last
year to maintain the surroundings clean and green, this year
too they went ahead with additional responsibilities. The
main road and the adjacent shops and the petrol station saw
the scouts and guides cleaning and also inviting them to
join. All the 208 scouts & guides - cubs & bulbuls took oath
once again to maintain everything including their own houses
clean and green. Mr. Ambarish, a young lawyer and a
well-wisher of Anugraha school was the chief guests of the
day. Three students read the Holy scriptures (Quran,
Bhagavad Geetha and Bible) and inspired every one. Let us

Fest:- September
8th is a special day for all the Mangalorean Catholics
wherever they are. Even in Bidar at Anugraha Church
dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi under the care of
Capuchin Friars celebrated it in a befitting manner.
Besides, Monthi Fest celebration we had the newly elected
parish council was established on this occasion. 37 children
between the age group of 1- 10 were baptized and made

Teachers’ Day:- Anugraha
School at Halbarga, Bidar, celebrated Teachers’ Day in a
grand manner on 5th September, 2015. Fr. Cyril Lobo, from
Kawdiyal Retreat Centre was the chief guest. Sr. Benny
D’Souza, UFS from Chaitanya Convent and Mr. Kumar A R from
Bangalore were the other guests and also served as judges
for the dance competitions. The school children though tiny

Scouts
& Guides at Anugraha:- 16
Scouts & 16 Guides joined the Scouts and Guides troop at
Anugraha School, Bidar on 27th August, 2015. So, far they
were Cubs & Bulbuls since they were below 10 years. All
those you reached the age of 10 years were selected and
promoted to be Scouts & Guides. The Scouts were given the
new caps and the badges by their Scout master Fr. Lourdswamy
and Mr. Mahan. The Guides were guided by the newly trained

Independence Day at Anugraha:- 69th
Independence Day was celebrated at Anugraha School, Halbarga
– Bidar, in a grand and unique way. Hoisting the national
flag was done by Rev. Sr. Cynthia Suares, UFS, the Guides
Training Commissioner. Colourful cultural programmes of
various kinds were exhibited by the tiny tots. After the
school programme 20 Cubs anad 20 Bulbuls accompanied by the
Scout Masters, cubs Masters, Guide Captains and Flock
Leaders went to Bhalki to take part in the Taluk level
programme. This is for the first time our school was chosen
to take part in the parade. The local MLA Mr. Eshwar Khandre
and also our BEO Mr. Nagraj C. selected our school because
of the activities of the Scouts & Guides (Cubs & Bulbuls).
Our tiny tots presented an action song near the statue of
Dr. Ambedkar on the main road and later took part in the

Course for Scout Master and Guide Captain was held in Bidar
from 28.07.2015 to 03.08.2015. Fr. Lourdswamy and Miss
Surekha from Anugraha School attended the course and came

Parents’ Meet : Anugraha School, Halbarga, Bidar:-
Anugraha
School, at Halbarga, Bidar held its first Parents’ Meet of
this academic year, on the 1st of August, 2015. Mr. Mohammed
Mousin, the CRP for the Minority Schools and also the
in-charge person for Minority Scholarships at the Education
Department in Bhalki was the recourse person and he briefed
exactly on the issue of Scholarship available for each
community and how to get it. Bro. Victor Crasta, the
principal of the school, highlighted the new programmes to
be implemented during the academic year. Fr. Lourdswamy
suggested every parent to join their wards for Scouts and
Guides. Fr. Joslie D’Silva, the treasurer enumerated how to
open a bank account in the name of each child and
volunteered himself to reach out to those in need. Miss
Sanju Rani, one of the teachers compered the programme. Miss

Election for the school parliament was held at Anugraha School, Halbarga, Bidar on 1st July, 2015. 48 members were elected from all the classes. They include School Pupil leaders, class leaders, sports secretaries, cleanliness department (Swaccha Bharata), disciplinarians, etc. The principal Br. Distribution
of Educational Kit to poor students:- On
Sunday the 14th of June, 2015, 51 poor students of St. Francis of
Assisi Church, Halbarga – Bidar were given educational kit. These
were sponsored by several friends and benefactors in and outside
India. The programme began with a thanksgiving mass offered by Fr.
Lourdswamy and Fr. Joslie D’Silva. During the Mass special prayers
were offered for the intentions of the donors. After the mass these
kits were given to each and every 51 students. Mr. Girish
Krishnamurthy who sponsored the school bags was present during the
function and distributed the kit to all the students. Bro. Victor
Crasta, the principal of Anugraha School urged the students to make

School Re-open
at Anugraha, Halbarga- Bidar:- The
formal inauguration of the Academic year 2015-16 at Anugraha took
place on 3rd June, 2015 as we had the Panchayath election on 2nd
June. Fr. Wilbert Vinay Lobo, the parish priest of St John Paul II
parish at Nittoor was the chief guest. He celebrated the Holy
Eucharist at 6.30 a.m. and blessed all the school vehicles
thereafter. At 9.30 a.m. the formal inauguration of the academic
year was held. It was done in a unique way by pouring water into the
pot to signify the lack of water in Bidar and also all the gathered
were requested to pray for the rain. Only a few students turned up
and the admissions are still going on. Our target to admit all the

The Staff
Picnic to Hampi:- Anugraha
School at Halbarga, Bidar held its annual picnic of the staff to
Hampi on 7th and 8th of April, 2015. We started at 5a.,m. on the 7th
and visited Science Park at Kalaburagi and had lunch at the
Cathedral and proceeded to Potnal via Maski and Sindanoor. Had our
rest at Clar Vihar, Potnal and on the 8th after the Eucharist and
Breakfast with the friars we had a short visit all the institutions
runs by the friars. They are:- Water Purifier (Acqua Clara),
Snehajyothi School, St. Clare’s Parish, Vimukthi Social Action Cell,
St. Clare’s Seminary (Post-novitiate). Then we visited Kishkinda
Water Park in Gangavathi and proceeded to Hampi - the historical

visit Very
Rev. Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais, OFM Cap. the minister provincial of the
Capuchins of Karnataka Province, conducted the pastoral/canonical
visitation of Anugraha Institutions at Halbarga, Bidar. He met all
the persons and institutions connected with the Capuchins who work
in all these institutions. He had a good word of appreciation for
the friars and the people who struggle hard to live up to their
vocation and charism in order to spread the good news of Jesus. His
final message was that “Brothers you have done excellently well and
are still doing good for the church and the people around you and I
request you to carry on in a still better manner as it pleases the
good Lord Jesus”.

Parents meet
at Anugraha School, Bidar : Parents
meet was held at Anugraha School, Bidar on 14th of March, 2015 at
2.30 p.m. Fr. Alwyn Dias, OFM Cap. the secretary of the Capuchin
Schools in Karnataka presided over the meetings. Mr. K S Chalkapure,
the Cluster Resource Person of Public Instructions, Bhalki was the
resource person of the day. Mr. Shivaram Rathod, district karate
president spoke about Karate being taught in Schools and its
importance, effects, and results. He volunteered to conduct Karate
classes for the students of Anugraha from the next Academic Year.
Bro. Victor Crasta, the principal of the school highlighted the
plans and projects for the coming academic year. Mr. Nixon compered
the programme. Miss Sanju Rani, welcomed the gathering and Mr. Mahan

Retreat @ St. Francis of Assisi Church at Anugraha, Ashram, Halbarga,
Bidar:- Annual
Lenten Retreat was held at St. Francis of Assisi Church (Anugraha
Ashram), Halbarga, Bidar on 6th, 7th & 8th of March, 2015. A
charismatic group consists of 6 members from Renewal Retreat Centre,
Bangalore preached the retreat in a befitting manner. This is for
the first time our parishioners experiencing a charismatic retreat.

offered the Holy Eucharist on the last day and honoured the

Lord Baden
Powell & Lady Olave Powell:- 22nd
February is an auspicious day for all the lovers of Scouts & Guides
family. On this day the founders of this movement, Lord Baden Powell
and his wife Lady Baden Powell were born on the same day but a
difference of 32 years. Anugraha School at Halbarga took every
chance to celebrate this unique day in a very befitting manner
though this year it fell on a Sunday. Fr. Wilson Fernandes, the
principal of St. Mary’s English School, Kalaburagi hoisted the
Scouts & Guides flag at 7.30 a.m. and Mr. Parameshwar Kundan, the
headmaster of famous Gangamma High School, Halbarga assisted him.

as Olave Powell and cut the birthday cake and shared with all

Republic Day
celebration at Anugraha:- On
26th January, 2015, Anugraha School at Halbarga, Bidar, celebrated
Republic Day in a very grand manner. At 7.30 a.m. national flag was
hoisted by Mr. Rudraiah, the Physical Education Teacher of St.
Antony’s School, Bangalore. The other guests who were on the dais:-
Mr. Balaswamy, a lecturter from St. John’s College, Bellary, Fr.
Harry D’Souza, from Aurad, Bidar, Mr. K. S. Chalkapure, the CRP of
Halbarga and Mrs. Sujatha, the office assistant of K.S.R.T.C. from
Kalaburagi. The newly set Kho Kho, Kabaddi and Volley Ball courts
were inaugurated on this occasion. The school children performed a
very colourful programme under the guidance of Mr. Rudraiah who is
the winner of Best Physical Education Teacher Award in Bangalore.

Celebration:- Anugraha
School at Bidar celebrated Christmas on 23rd December. Fr. Vincent
Pereira, the newly ordained priest of the Diocese of Gulbarga was
the chief guest and gave a fitting message to all gathered. Fr.
Nelson, MSFS too accompanied him and had a beautiful Christmas
message to share. Mrs. Anitha Patil, the principal of Durga Public
School (our closest neighbour) wished everyone happy Christmas and
said that she is proud to be here. School children entertained
everyone with colourful Christmas programmes. Cake was distributed
to all and each staff member had a special Christmas gift and a

Visit of His
Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Michael Miranda Visit
of His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Michael Miranda, the bishop of
Gulbarga Diocese, to Hupla, a substation of St. Francs of Assisi
Church, Halbarga, Bidar. Arrival at 10 a.m. followed by welcome
ceremony and Eucharist which lasted for 2 hours. Just 10 minutes
break for a simple dry lunch in one of the houses and then His
Excellency visited each house (37 houses) and inquired about the
members in each family and said a prayer and blessed them all and

3 day camp for
bulbuls: The
bulbuls from 6 Districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka had a unique chance
to come together for a 3 day camp at Sedam. Anugraha is the only
school selected from all over Bidar district. Accordingly 20 bulbuls
and two teachers (flock leaders) attended this camp from 21st to
24th. We feel proud to say that our school stood FIRST in all the

Post Novices
at Anugraha:- 9
Post Novices together with the director Fr. Joe Francis were in
Anugraha School, Halbarga – Bidar for their practical living
experience for 10 days. There arrived here on 1st of October and
celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi with the school children on 2nd October
by sweeping and cleaning the surroundings. On 3rd October they
enacted the Transitus of our Holy Father St. Francis of Assisi. On
the 4th of October they participated in various activities of the
parish as a great number of devotees and parishioners celebrated the

Feast of St.
Francis of Assisi:- The
titular feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the founder of the
Franciscan Order and also the patron saint of Halbarga Church at
Bhalki, Bidar, was celebrated in a grand scale on the 4th of
October. At 9.30 a.m. the procession was started from the church to
Halbarga town and at 11 a.m. festal mass began with the introduction
by the superior of Anugraha Br. Victor Crasta, OFM Cap. Rt. Rev. Dr.
Robert Michael Miranda, the bishop Gulbarga Diocese was the main

Jayanthi @ Anugraha School :- Anugraha
School at Halbarga, Bidar celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi in a unique
way. On 2nd October at 8.30 a.m. all the 104 cubs and bulbuls of our
school dressed in their uniform gathered together in the school
grounds and had the physical exercises and offered flowers to the
statue of Mahatma Gandhi. 9 post novices who arrived from Potnal of
Raichur District together with their director Rev. Fr. Joe Francis
were also present on the occasion and offered flowers to Mahatma
Gandhi. 3 students read the good news from three Holy Scriptures

Karanji at Anugraha School:- 19
students from Anugraha participated in the Prathibha Karanji held at
the cluster level in Halbarga. 16 students got prizes in various
activities and 14 are selected for Taluk level competitions to be

Vimochana Day: September
17th is an auspicious day for Hyderabad-Karnataka region as they
celebrated the Independence Day. Anugraha School too remembered this
day and celebrated it in a befitting manner. National flag was
hoisted at 7.30 a.m. by Fr. Joslie D’Silva, OFM cap. the parish
priest of Halbarga Church. He explained to all gathered the
significance of the day. Hyderabad-Karnataka received the freedom on
September 17th 1948 from the rule of Nizam. Bro. Victor Crasta, OFM
Cap. the principal of the school narrated briefly the meaning of

Cubs &
Bulbuls:- This
year Anugraha School has 56 cubs & 28 Bulbuls, making grand total of
84. We have a trained cub Master Naveen Nazareth and 2 flock leaders
Miss Geetha and Miss Anuradha. Every Thursday all the cubs and
bulbuls have their training and activities for about an hour. They
maintain proper discipline in the school and also keep the
surrounding clean and green. Let us pray for them. Besides we have

of His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Michael Miranda of Gulbarga

August was an auspicious day for the Anugraha Ashram, Church And
School as Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Michael Miranda officially visited the
parish and the school. His Excellency arrived here at 9.30 a.m. and
baptized 79 persons, 37 people received first holy community and 52
received confirmation from the hands of bishop. A day long ceremony
from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. did not tire the bishop. At 6 p.m. he
left for the new sub-station at Kon-Melkunda and had a prayer

our parish at Halbarga, Bidar, there are 24 children who are
sponsored for the education by the Gulbarga Diocese were invited for
a get-together and for a briefing of the programmes. Fr. Wilson

Parish priest briefed the children and their parents about the
formalities and exhorted them to make use of the facilities

order to maintain the school compound clean and green and to
celebrate the Vanamahotsava plants were planted in the garden of
Anugraha School, by the students and women members SHG of Halbarga.
Fr. Pradeep Mangali, OFM Cap. the newly appointed parish priest of
Sacred Heart Church, at Bidar and also a member of Anugraha Ashram
exhorted the students to love the trees and plants and maintain the

kindergarten wing of Scouts and Guides movement known as “Bunnies”
for nursery students is started in Anugraha School, Bidar. Miss
Geetha and Miss Anuradha who are just fresh after their training for
a week in Udupi for this particular wing have started the movement

School, School:- April
& May are the months for results of the schools and June is the
month for admission to the new academic year in all over in
Karnataka. In Bidar too (though in last column of results), several
students and their parents rushed to admit their wards to different
schools. The newly appointed parish priest at Halbarga (Fr. Joslie
D’Silva, OFM Cap.) took special interest to admit the students to

Farewell &
Welcome at Anugraha, Halbarga – Bidar:- In
the month of May every year we see a lot of changes, especially in
religious houses. Anugraha Ashram at Halbarga – Bidar witnessed the
same and had no exception. Fr. Francis Fernandes, OFM Cap. who was
the parish priest of St. Francis of Assisi Church for seven years,
here at Halbarga was given a grand send off by the parishioners on
25th of May, 2014 while Fr. Joslie Francis D’Sliva, OFM Cap. was

& Bulbuls: The
cubs & Bulbuls of Anugraha Church School, Halbarga, Bidar, went for
a monthly hiking to Divya Jyothi school, Bhalki and had interaction
with the students. This being the last day of activities to the Cubs
and Bulbuls for this academic year, prize distribution was done for
the winners in all the competitions conducted during the whole

Women’s Day at
Anugraha, Halbarga: International
Women’s Day was celebrated at Anugraha School, Halbarga, Bidar on
9th March, 2014. Around 400 women took part in the programme which
was organized by the women themselves of Halbarga and surrounding
villages. The director of ORBIT Fr. Bapu Santhosh was the president
of the function. Mrs. Anitha Patel, the Headmistress of Durga Public
School inaugurated the programme. Mr. Veerashetty Vatimbe and Mrs.
Vijayalakshmi Gadde both lawyers spoke about the rights and duties
of women and how to fight for it.

Srs..Maria Gretta & Jyothi to our School : Sr.
Maria Gretta, A C, the Principal of Carmel D.Ed. College - Bidar
along with Sr. Jyothi, A C (vice-principal) and Mr. Balaji
(lecturer) visited our school and reviewed the performance of the
trainee teachers who are having their practical sessions in our
school. They were welcomed by our tiny Cubs and Bulbuls. Our school
principal Bro. Victor Crasta honoured the principal and the staff of
Carmel D.Ed. college for sending their teachers to our school and
helping us in various ways. Also, the Cubs and Bulbuls had various
competitions today in view of the closing ceremony of weekly meeting
for the academic year 2013-14.

Annual Picnic: The
students and the staff of Anugraha School at Halbarga, Bidar went
for an annual excursion in and around Bidar city. The first item of
the day was at Baridshahi amusement part where the students enjoyed
the most playing verities of games. Then we proceeded to Gurunanaka
Gurudwara (the second after Golden Temple) and had our lunch there.
The attraction of the place was a dip in the swimming pool which was
a first experience for several. The last place of our tour was the
visit to Chikpet the Don Bosco Institute of Technology where the
students had a unique chance to enjoy in the bird sanctuary.

and Fr. Clary D’Souza praised the Cubs and Bulbuls and wished them

Selection
of students under RTE (Right for Education) for the academic year
2014-15, was held at Anugraha School, Halbarga – Bidar on 20th
February, 2014 at 11.30 a.m. We received 68 applications and all the
applicants were invited to this gathering which was presided over by
the Block Education Officer Mr. Prakash Dongre of Bhalki Taluk. In
order to prove 100% transparency, the procedure for selection was
observed meticulously in front of everyone gathered. The school
could select 15 students out of which 1 from Scheduled Tribe, 4 from
Scheduled Caste and remaining 10 from general category.

all the 3 catholic chapels (Hunji, Uppala and Siddeshwara) and also
to a new station at Kon-Melkunda where nearly 35 families are ready
and willing to join the Catholic fold. Nearly 100 people were
gathered to welcome and greet the provincial on 11th February at 8
p.m. They garlanded and honoured the provincial and all the guests
with traditional caps. Provincial in his speech assured the people
that soon they will have a place of worship constructed by the
Capuchins.

Anugraha
Chapel:- The
chapel of Anugraha Ashram is furnished with new altar and the
kneelers and new door at the entrance of the chapel and one more at
the entrance of the ashram. All these were blessed by our Provincial
Minister Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais during his canonical visit on 9th
February. He thanked Br. Victor the superior of the ashram for
finding the benefactors and friends who sponsored all the above.

Annual Day at
Anugraha:- School
Annual Day of Anugraha School at Halbarga, Bidar was held on
Saturday 8th February, 2014. The day began by welcoming the
dignitaries to the dais by Fr. Lourdswamy. The newly formed troops
of cubs and Bulbuls were officially inaugurated by the Block
Education Officer Mr. Prakash Dongre. The new book “±Á¯Á
eÁÕ£ÉÆÃQÛUÀ¼ÀÄ” (Thoughts for
the Day) edited Bro. Victor Crasta was released by Msgr. Stany Lobo,
the vicar general of the diocese of Gulbarga. The new website of the
school www.anugrahabidar.org was officially launched by Fr.
Sebastian Fernandes, OFM Cap. who arrived from New Zealand. Mr.
Naveen D’Souza of India Business Online, Bangalore, who sponsored
this website was thanked profusely in his absence.

Republic Day
At Anugraha, Bidar:- Republic
Day was celebrated in a grand scale at Anugraha Church School,
Halbarga, Bidar on 26th January, 2014. The day began by hoisting the
national flag by Rev. Sr. Cynthia Suares, UFS, the state training
commissioner for guides. It was followed by drill exercises and
cultural programmes by the students. Prize distribution for the
winners of the year was done on this occasion. The newly formed cubs
and bulbuls gave a new look to the celebration. The chief guest of
the day Sr. Cynthia congratulated the cubs and bulbuls and invited
every student to join this movement in order to maintain proper
discipline.

Joachim & Robin:- Anugraha
School at Bidar had the privilege of welcoming Fr. Joachim D’Souza
(Provincial Treasurer) and Fr. Victor Robin D’Souza (Provincial
Administrator). Fr. Robin was here for the first time and Fr.
Joachim for the second time. The former one pleased with the
excellent discipline and performance of the students requested them
to practice still more until you become perfect. The latter blessed
the tiny tots with anticipated greetings and blessings of Republic

Christmas
Celebration at Anugraha School, Bidar: Christmas
was celebrated in a grand scale at Anugraha School, Bidar. Sr.
Lavinia Fernandes, SCCG, the Headmistress of Divya Jyothi School,
Bhalki was the chief guest of the function. During the assembly Fr.
Francis Fernandes, OFM Cap. gave a befitting message to all the
students. Later, during the cultural programme Sr. Lavinia addressed
the students and gave the meaning of Christmas. Capuchin Deacon Joel
Lopes who is presently at Kawdial in Humnabad Taluk of Bidar
district, for his diaconal ministry spoke on the significance of
Christmas even today. Christmas cake was distributed to all the
students and all the staff (teaching & non-teaching) were given

Karanji: Taluk Level Taluk
level Prathibha Karanji was held at Joldhapka Govt. Higher Primary
School, near Bhalki – Bidar. 10 students from Anugraha School
participated and 9 have secured the prizes. 2 students are qualified
for District level competitions to be held soon. Prizes to the
winners were distributed by Mr. Ananth Singh during the school

Karanji: Zonal Level Zonal
level prathibha karanji was held in our zone at Govt. Hr. Pry.
School, Kon-Melkunda. 16 students from our school participated and
12 students receive prizes in various competitions. 8 of them bagged
first prizes and qualified for the Taluk level competitions to be
held soon. The prizes to the winners were distributed by Sr. Anitta,

Visit to
Potnal We,
the three friars of Anugraha Ashram participated in the zonal
recollection held at Clara Vihar, Potnal, together with the friars
and post novices over there on the 5th of December. It was a nice
occasion to visit our school Sneha Jyothi Vidyalaya. The clean and
pure water (Aqua Clara) supplied to all the villages by installing
water purifying machines in the church compound is to be specially
noted. The parish priest and all the friars are to be congratulated
for this unique venture in the province.

Pilgrimage to Dharur :
On
the 15th of November, 2013, we the friars of Anugraha Ashram went on
a pilgrimage to Dharur in Andhra Pradesh near Hyderabad. This
pilgrimage is of Methodist Church located in a village near the
river and attracts lakhs and lakhs of people during this Jathra in
the second week of November.

Annual Feast of Infant Jesus Shrine at Bhalki, Bidar
Infant
Jesus Shrine, Bhalki:- The Annual Feast of Infant Jesus Shrine at
Bhalki, Bidar was held on 8th, 9th & 10th of November, 2013. On the
8th there was a grand procession with decorated Infant Jesus statue.
On the 9th two bishops (Gerald Isaac Lobo of Udupi and Robert
Michael Miranda of Gulbarga) celebrated the Holy Eucharist. On 10th
being the last day of the celebration, Sunil R Manakare a local
deacon was ordained priest for the diocese of Gulbarga. Mr. J R
Lobo, MLA from Mangalore was the chief guest for the function.

The friars of
Anugraha Ashram, Halbarga, Bidar went for a community picnic to
Latur, Osmanabad, Killeri, Chakur & Hulsoor. Though we are in
Karnataka, the closest capuchin House for us is Latur of Maharashtra
Province (distant-wise: 114 kms. from Halabrga to Latur) and the
second closest is Hyderbad of Andhra Province (140 kms. from Bidar
to Hyderabad).

Meet – 26.07.2013 : Anugraha school at Bidar
Anugraha
School at Bidar held its first Parents’ Meet of the Academic
year 2013-14, on 26th July, 2013. Fr. Alwyn Dias, OFM Cap., the
Vicar Provincial of Holy Trinity Capuchin Province, Karnataka
and also the secretary of Capuchin Education Board, was the
resource person of the day and also presided over the meeting.
He elaborately explained to the parents gathered their specific
